It’s that time of year in the Midwest…finally time to put away your kids’ winter clothes, save a few pairs of jeans and sweatshirts. If you’re like me (anal-retentive about organizing their outgrown clothing by size), you’re annoyed at all of the space that winter coats take up in your storage bins. If you’re not like me, you’re wondering why I spend so much time thinking about stuff like this.
Anyway, I discovered a great, relatively-inexpensive way to store coats for my 3 boys. We had a portable closet leftover from when my brother lived with us, and it can hold a bunch of coats. You can get them lots of places - Walmart, Lowes, Organized Living – and pay anywhere from $20-45 for one. Or you can get one at a garage sale that’s brand new for $7 like I did (if you can find a Rubbermaid brand one anywhere, it’s much sturdier than the cheaper ones). It does not take up a lot of room, zips closed to keep them clean, and solves my dilemma. Here’s an example of what I’m talking about. Works for me!
