Frank Talk about Work

This conversation actually happened over lunch today, and it came out of nowhere. I could barely keep myself from cracking up, and instead started taking notes, because Matt is going to love this.

Luke: I think when I’m a dad I’ll choose not to work so much. I’ll work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, so I can take my Monday off and my Friday.

Me: What would you do with all of those days off?

Luke: Well, I’d take my kids out, play mini-golf, go to the coffee and cookie store, and take my kids to Cardinals games.

Me: Um, where will you work that will let you only work 3 days a week?

Luke: Well, I might sometimes go in on Mondays and Fridays. Just not usually. And I’ll probably take Dad’s place at the bank.

Bennett: (who has been totally silent, finally pipes up) I think I’m gonna go to work, make some money to get some more food and eat it, then go to a meeting. But I’ll still have to do some more stuff to get some more money to be able to buy other stuff.
