Online Shopping, New Recipes, and The Bachelor.

I did a little online shopping this afternoon and found some great things on clearance at Kohls – specifically some sports gear for Luke. There were Illini football jerseys for about $15 and a Cardinals hooded sweatshirt for about the same. There are tons of teams available – if you’ve got a little boy, check it out! He’ll be getting the sweatshirt for Christmas next year, but the jersey I’ll have to just give him in time for football season. Actually, hmmm…the Easter bunny could bring that…I just updated my cart and now Bennett’s getting one, too! Each item is $.99 shipping today only, and I had an extra 20% off with my Kohls card.

New recipes up today!
Spicy Chicken Stir Fry
Pepperoni Lasagna Roll-Ups

I won’t do this everyday – but I’m excited.

No wonder the state of American marriage is what it is today. Way to take commitment seriously, Jason the Bachelor. At least he bailed on the first girl before he married her. I hate this show. Sorry to those who like it. I can’t stand announcer-man Chris’s “most shocking rose ceremony ever” nonsense. I hate to see girls get totally emotionally involved only to be “voted off.” That’s so real-life. Ugh. (Please note that I am not ripping on all reality TV – just the dating ones. I have plenty of my own vices – Biggest Loser and Amazing Race, anyone?)

  1. What? What happened? I stopped watching tv a few weeks ago, so I missed it.

    • I don’t watch it, but I know that he chose one girl at the end of the show, then dumped her for the other “finalist” sometime after the last rose ceremony.

  2. Dating realtiy shows are the worst! Like any relationship from one of those shows is going to last longer than their 15 minutes of fame.
Dancing with the Stars is the best show!!

  3. Definitely going to check out Kohl’s today. Thanks for the heads up! LOVE Biggest Loser and Amazing Race. I do have to admit that this is the first season since the very beginning that I have watched American Idol. I don’t know why, but I got hooked this season. But, last night was horrible. My friend and I were texting back and forth the entire time! Don’t think I’ll watch again.

  4. AMAZING RACE IS MY FAVORITE! I have been addicted since the first season – My husband HATES when a new season starts because I get very involved in the show!! Since the kiddos made an apperance I now have to tape the show and watch it after they are in bed – so i don’t miss anything!! :-)

  5. Did you hear about the ABC rumors? That Jason wanted to pick Molly all along but they made him choose Melissa for the dramatic effect?!?
Basically Melissa was just a pawn…and Jason agreed to it! I’m seriously disappointed. I have always enjoyed the bachelor/bachelorette series (and making Tim watch a little with me)…but now I don’t know if I can justify watching another season…

**Maybe I’ll watch if Jillian is the next bachelorette**

  6. I love Kohls. They do have great sales, don’t they?

  7. That whole Bachelor thing was disgusting. It appears they took a seemingly decent guy and turned him into a pig for TV ratings. What he did to that poor girl was reprehensible, but if you believe the rumors, it was all planned and everyone was in on it. Still…disgusting.

What’s NOT disgusting is that spicy chicken stir-fry recipe! YUMMY!! I saw your comment on other vegetables and, in my freaky little mind, there is no limit to the different veggies you can put in it. I’m a big edamame fan, and if I ever have any leftovers (which is unusual), I usually throw those in (at the end), as well as carrots, celery, baby corn, mushrooms, water chestnuts…there are no rules in stir-fry land! Not sure if you’ve ever tried it, but Sesame Oil is a little slice of wonderfulness. A little goes a very long way, but it gives that great nutty flavor that only chinese restaurants seem to be able to achieve. Mmmmm…now I’m hungry for lunch. At 9:15 a.m.

  8. Hey Nicole! Thanks so much for the Kohls info. The boys have there jerseys on the way. Go Illini! There was only 4 left in Ayden’s size so if anyone wants them they are going fast! I called because the website wasn’t working for me and I got the guy to waive all shipping costs (It’s not $.99 today). I’m also going to use the Easter basket idea!

  9. I have no patience with shows like The Bachelor. I guess I kind of get the appeal but mostly I find it annoying to see women acting so foolishly and men acting so boorishly. Puh-leeze. And that’s all I have to say about that.

I need your help. I need a tutorial on how in the world to work WordPress. I’m trying to get some things set up on the new blog and I don’t know how to work the system. Could we set up a date sometime for kiddos to play and you to teach me how to do this?

  10. The Bachelor After the Final Rose was an absolute train wreck. And they aired it two nights in a row!!! To Jason- I pray that the royalties are enough to pay for the counseling your 3 year will have to endure. And to Molly- there is something oh-so-tacky about making out with Jason minutes after he dumped another first girl. Yuck.

  11. Thanks so much for the new blog to check out on menus. Planning out my meals is new because normally I just go into the kitchen and whip something up, but in order to save money and trips to the grocery store. I am trying to be more dilligent.
    Thanks!
