Also, if you aren’t a reader of Cake Wrecks, you should be. It’s hilarious. I can’t believe there are so many horrible “professional” cakes out there. I thought today’s was particularly funny re: Administrative Professionals Day, since I used to be an admin. asst. I didn’t have to order my own cake on AP Day, though when I did a lunch interview with the same organization for a different position, I did have to order in our lunch, which was a tad weird.

Our allergies are getting us down here – darn pollen! And it’s so windy that the pollen is everywhere. Luke’s having a particularly rough time with it. Making matters worse is that when I turned on our a/c yesterday for the first time (not only to rid the house of allergens blowing in the windows, but because it was 84 degrees in here), it didn’t work. Ok, it turned on, but it didn’t cool. Here’s hoping that it can be fixed and not replaced on Monday, when our HVAC hero shows up.

I’m making Pioneer Woman’s Migas (recipe from fall 2008 I think) for the first time. I also made a Rhubarb Stir Cake (before I knew that her guest was making a Rhubarb Crumb Cake today!).
I saw that Cake Wreck today for the admins and I’m forwarding it to the 2 awesome “admins” in my company. They’ll enjoy that a lot!
Poor Luke (and the rest of you). Allergies are no fun.
