Last weekend, Matt and I got to be a part of a really cool surprise.
Our friend Sonya (I’ve known her since birth, remember?) invited us to come to their beautiful home in Indy to surprise Kirk for his 40th birthday. He knew that there was a party, but Sonya had several surprises for him as friends from Colorado flew in on Thursday, and then helped them plan their Summer-Olympics-themed party. His parents also flew in and surprised him, and he had no idea that we were coming.
We dropped the kids off at my dad’s house, where he and my siblings took care of them Saturday and Sunday. Our schedule was pretty tight, as Luke had a baseball game in the morning and we had just enough time to get to Effingham, leave the kids on my dad’s doorstep, and get to Indy before Kirk’s party started.
Anyway, we had a great time at the party, but more than that, we were so glad to get some time with our friends, who we hadn’t seen in 18+ months.
Here’s Matt and Kirk, former coworkers (which is how we met Kirk…thankfully, because he then met Sonya at our wedding!).
If you click over to her blog and look at pictures, please know that I was not, in fact, wearing a maternity dress (in the water balloon toss picture). Ugh.
You write that and I have to go search the pictures for what you’re talking about… you are your own worst critic!!! You don’t even look a little pregnant!
Cute hair though! It’s rare to look good dark and light, but you totally do!
