Thanksgiving, Picture Style

Not much time here, since I’m apparently the only person I know who hasn’t decorated her house yet for Christmas! I’m working on making that happen this week, so blogging could continue to be sparse. But, here’s a quick Thanksgiving weekend recap!

Bullet Points: Weekend Alone

*Boys left around 4pm on Friday. Matt was headed to deer camp (where he does not actually hunt, if you remember), and the boys were headed to Nana Jo and Papa Ron’s house for a weekend of fun.
*Did a happy dance around the kitchen.
*Ran a ton of errands, most of them fun.
*Picked [...]

Happiness Is…

…a long drive by yourself. With three kids, uninterrupted time alone in the car has become precious to me, so you’ll understand why I so enjoyed this weekend!
On Friday night, I set off for Effingham for my SIL Andrea’s baby shower (pictures later in this post!). I sadly kissed my kids and husband [...]

Apples. 19.5 Pounds of Them, To Be Exact.

Yes, you read that right. We picked nearly 20 pounds of apples today at Eckert’s. I’m feeling a bit like Forrest Gump thinking of all the things I can make with apples over the next couple of weeks…
Though it was chilly, it was a great day to be at the orchard! It [...]

10th Anniversary Recap

Bear with me as I chronicle our 10th anniversary.
Matt and I talked about gifts, and while he really wanted to buy me something expensive like diamond earrings (something I mentioned years ago would make a lovely 10th anniversary gift), I talked him out of it. I know, what girl tells her husband NOT to [...]

Where Have I Been?

a) Frantically trying to keep up with the laundry which, as I shared with a couple of friends today, seems to be having babies when I put clothes in the hamper.
b) Still trying to accomplish the things on this list. I also added a couple of things to the list, and I AM going to [...]

Jack Henry’s 2nd Birthday Recap

Update from yesterday: the washer got fixed today for well within what we’d set our repair limit to be. Gah. Part of me was sincerely hoping that it was dead, so I could get something snazzy. Truly, though, I am glad that we’re not having to spend the money on a new [...]

You Know It Was a Good Day…

…when you end up this dirty.
NOTE: Luke and Bennett were there, too, they just weren’t being as cute, so they didn’t get their pictures taken. Luke had a great game today…all the defensive practice is paying off! He did get hit in the chest with a ball though, and I think it really [...]

Is It Basketball Season Yet?

OK, OK, Illinois STUNK today vs. Mizzou.  I really don’t want to talk about the game…maybe the worst I’ve ever been present for.  If we were watching at home, I definitely would have left the room to do something else.  It was bad.  And our best player, who was injured on the first play of [...]

Saturday Fun

Instead of holding a funeral for summer today (which, technically, I was still kind of doing in my pity party in my head, but at least I didn’t say stuff out loud), we had a day filled with summer activities!
First thing this morning, I got up and at ‘em early, when Jack Henry woke me [...]
