Jack Henry is really starting to get around. Except it’s mainly backwards motion, or rolling over quickly. Today Bennett yelled out, as I’ve told him to do if he spots this, “MOM! Jack’s right by the fireplace!” And sure enough, he’d scooted himself back there from the middle of the floor in a matter of a couple of minutes.
Tonight, I got him in his jammies and then made his bottle and got his antibiotic ready (he had his first ear infection last week, which I don’t think I mentioned). I usually leave him close to his closet doors so he can look at himself in the mirror. He must have started moving right away, because I heard him crying, and went in and found this:
And I ran to get my camera and take a picture of this moment, because that’s the kind of mom I am (and he wasn’t stuck or anything, he just moved all the way back to the rocking chair and shoved it against the wall, using his 90th percentile, 21 lb. frame).
Here he is fast asleep just a short time later, snuggled up to his lovey, which is made of this crinkly satin and some minky fabric that I just love. We just started using it with him, and when he touches it, he calms down. Thanks to my friend Colleen for getting it for him!
