Eight Years

I don’t really feel like rehashing September 11 on the blog today…I did this post last year with my recollection of the day.

Instead, I’d like to ask you to pray for this family, the Nevils. Jeremy enlisted in the Army 3 years ago, and 2 months ago, he was deployed to Afghanistan (his unit was featured in this piece by Richard Engel). Jeremy and Tiffany are St. Louisans, but Tiffany and their two young sons are living in Washington state where Jeremy was stationed, awaiting his return from a yearlong deployment.

September 11 might have happened eight years ago, but we still have many, many soldiers fighting for our freedom. Please don’t forget about the sacrifices they and their families are continuing to make.

  1. Very good piece Nic!

  2. Thanks for this post, Nicole. My young brother is leaving for his THIRD tour in a few weeks…this time to Afghanistan. He leaves behind a sweet wife and two little girls in Hawaii. The danger is great and his sacrifices are many….

  3. Very thoughtful. Thanks for this.

  4. Very nice post. Thanks!

    NEVER FORGET!!!

  5. Excellent post. We need to pray for our troops ALWAYS . . . as well as their families here at home.

  6. Aw schucks lady! Thank you so much for thinking of us and putting us on the old bloggie-blog! You are too sweet! Has it really only been two months? UGH!
