The Obligatory “We Decorated Christmas Cookies” Post

I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking, but in short, the boys did a great job of decorating their cookies this year! My cookie sheet idea works well (they each get a cookie sheet with their cookies on it for decorating) as it helps contain the mess. I gave each of them 6 cookies to decorate, and would have let them do more but they were finished after that many (Bennett actually quit after 5). Then the cookies go into a special container and the boys get to eat their own cookies, which works out well for everyone, because frankly, I’m slightly afraid of their cookies, from both a germ standpoint and a frosting/sugar-to-cookie ratio.

  1. Love Jack Henry’s expression at the 2nd cookie request – i got the same thing last night from KT. Katie was “helping” us and i caught her eating the raw dough…. while muttering “mmmm cookie.”

  2. ohhh, give him a 2nd cookie (j/k – although that face does break your heart).

  3. You are such a good mom! Except, of course, for making your darling toddler cry. C’mon, Mom, have a heart. It’s Christmas. So what if he’s wired from a sugar high. Or too full to eat anything w/ even a teeny bit of nutrition later.

  4. Jo stole my line…C’mon mom! It’s Christmas!

    • Well, if it makes you feel better, he had a cookie for dessert tonight…because he ate all of his dinner (it was pancakes and yogurt, but I’m not going to split hairs…he met the requirement for dessert, which is trying everything on your plate!).

  5. i cna’t wait until adali can help me decorate cookies! this looks like so much more fun than doing it by yourself.
