Sooo, technically these pictures aren’t from Luke’s first game of the season. But we weren’t there; we were in paradise. In our defense, the game that we missed should have been about the 4th game of the season, but there have been so many rainouts this year that his first game finally happened last week.
Let me just say for the record that I love to watch baseball, but these games can be pretty painful at times. The kids have improved a lot over last season, but any suggestions about how to get Luke to pay attention when he’s in the field would be greatly appreciated. One thing that will help is that he will no longer be allowed to chew gum while playing, since his gum magically ended up on his pants (near the front pocket area) stuck in a huge mess. I spent the last 25 minutes googling how to remove gum and then actually doing it. Sigh.
Nonetheless, not much is as adorable as a little boy in his uniform, and Luke hits the ball well. We’ll focus on the positives.
Bennett has, likewise, had a bunch of rainouts and only one game so far. He was really getting anxious for games to start; practice is so boring for a 5-year-old. He had his first game two Saturdays ago, when it was freezing cold and windy. He is a pretty serious ballplayer!!
